Santa Isabel is a supermarket located in the country of Chile.
Initially, it operated only in the digital world through its online store
However, upon becoming aware of the growing needs and expectations of its customers, the company ventured into an exciting project with the aim of developing a mobile application from scratch.
This project was divided into two clearly defined phases. In the first phase, they focused on creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), which would serve as an essential initial version of the application. This stage focused on providing users with a functional, basic but effective experience, allowing them to access the supermarket's essential services from their mobile devices.
The second phase, known as the light and dark Evolutionary Version, was proposed with the aim of taking the mobile application to a higher level. At this stage, the focus was on improving accessibility, UI design, arrangement of some components and the incorporation of additional features that enriched the user experience.

Application development process
1. Jumbo Sister App Review: Comprehensive review and analysis of sister app Jumbo to understand its functionality, design and features.
2. UI Kit Design: Development of consistent components, styles and visual elements to ensure consistency throughout the design, define design guidelines and rules to facilitate implementation and maintenance.
3. UI Design, MVP Version: Using the lessons learned during the detailed review of sister application Jumbo, we proceeded to design the user interface for the minimum viable version (MVP). Featured elements and practices identified during the review were incorporated, while maintaining consistency with the new UI Kit developed.
4. User testing with MVP version: User testing was conducted to obtain feedback on the user experience and usability of the MVP. In this way, areas for improvement could be identified and the design adjusted according to the comments received.
5. User research: Additional research was conducted to understand user needs and expectations. Analyze market trends and user behaviors to inform future design iterations.
6. User profile creation: Detailed user profiles were defined, including demographic characteristics, behaviors, and goals. Finally, these profiles were used to personalize and adapt the Santa Isabel application to the user profiles created.
7. Testing and improvements in accessibility: The accessibility of the design in the MVP version was evaluated, testing with tools, implementing improvements to guarantee a better version of the application that is inclusive and meets accessibility standards.
8. UI redesign and improvements, Evolutionary version: Based on user feedback and test results obtained with the MVP version, adjustments and improvements were made to the user interface design, implementing an evolutionary version that reflects the improvements made in accessibility, tested functionalities and being a Separate app from sister app Jumbo.
9. Design System Initiative: It began with the initiative of creating the design system to consolidate and maintain coherence in the design over time. Document and share components, design rules, and principles to facilitate collaboration between design and development teams.
